to build a house: day 1

This is early on Day 1 (after almost 2 hours of work). The groups have already made much more progress and will go back to do more after siesta.

First up, St. Luke's Presbyterian Church from Dunwoody, GA (this is the same site as the previous picture)

Spray, concrete, rebar

Next we have Kenbridge Baptist Church from Virginia

This family has chickens

Last, but not least, we have our second St. Luke's- St. Luke's Episcopal Church from Oklahoma. They are first timers and had a slow start, but so excited to be here!

Drink your water!

Each group has a Health Coordinator who ensures everyone stays hydrated. We recommend all folks on site to drink 8 oz or more each half hour. We also recommed they drink water on the hour and "Quick Fix" on the half hour. Quick Fix is not a favorite, but is essential to staying hydrated in the heat. If you are interested in making it at home, you'll need unsweetened orange juice, water, and a lot of salt. Sounds good, huh?
