the market
Downtown Piedras Negras is a neat little place less than 5 miles from our hotel. It's home to the "old bridge" to Texas (still operating, but most folks use the larger "new bridge"), a plaza, office buildings and doctors offices, and the Market. The Market is a neat place filled with many different (mostly) authentic things. Think New York's China Town (minus the "Prada, Gucci") in Spanish mixed with a nice stroll through a park with benches and shade trees. They have many cowboy hats, dresses, soccer jerseys, pieces of pottery, silver, and even quite a bit of food. It's ok to barter, but the stuff here is fairly cheap, so it's not always necessary.

I would like a gift, please. My colors are red/khaki in the living room and blue/brown in my bedroom. Whatever you can find, would be fine.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos! If they have a candle for warding off chipmunks in your yard, pick me up a dozen please ;-)! I liked the photos of the hotel and autos too. Glad you are well. Thanks for being there! Are you able to keep up with the Tour de France?
ReplyDeleteP.S. I heard Lance was in third place after today.
