We loaded up in Oso and went out to the first site
the road was long and bumpy, but we were able to enjoy the sunflowers on the way
and the Rio Bravo in the distance
the staff jumped on the trailer to pass down the first panel
then the group (from North Carolina) took it from there
the panel is then lifted once
twice
then over to the correct spot on the house- panel 1 complete
followed by panel 2
panel 3
panel 4
panel 5
and panel 6
before we run into a problem- roof panel 7 cracks
so off to the roof panel place we go to unload the bad panel and reload a new one
coming back, we enjoyed the sunflowers again
then were able to complete the roof
a local news station came to interview John, but work continued on the roof
This afternoon will be spent chinking (filling in the gaps between roof & house with small pieces of rock and cinder block) and stuccoing the rest of the house. Tomorrow, this house will be dedicated and a new family will have a home.
Now if you'll excuse me, it's time for my siesta. Adios!
