Imagine it's Iron Bowl Saturday & everyone in the country is cheering for Alabama (ofcourse) - that's how today felt. Mexico played France in the World Cup, and even though it's any early-round game, it's insane! Driving to the neighborhoods this morning I noticed that most folks I saw had on green jerseys- drivers, walkers, taco stand workers, even folks in Texas when I crossed the border. Everything shut down at 1:30 this afternoon & my guess is most folks saw the game- apparently they even broadcast it at the schools (schools are in session for a few more weeks before summer break). During the game last Friday we noticed folks gathered around tvs with rabbit ears on the side of the road. I'm not a soccer fan, but its hard not to get into the mania....who knows, I may even end up with my very own jersey next time I go to the market.
In other news, my favorite breakfast is Thursday's taqitos (small tacos) with homemade refried beans & salsa. It's the real deal- soaked pinto beans, fresh tomatoes, cilantro and jalapenos blended perfectly & served on a fresh flour tortilla. I cannot get enough of it....in fact I ate it for breakfast. & lunch (and would totally have it again if we weren't eating here tonight as one big group)! Maybe tomorrow....
Lastly, I've sent my computer to a guy in town which will hopefully be able to repair the harddrive without losing too much data...at this point, I don't care what's lost, just really want my computer back!
Happy Friday to all! I'm looking for some downtime...and clean clothes! Adios.
